Overview

In 2022, Connect2Progress launched a pilot event on addiction in the electronic music industry: a focused two-hour panel session in the main hall of Amsterdam’s Oranjekerk.

Produced independently in the weeks prior to Amsterdam Dance Event, the session addressed essential challenges in the music industry, including balancing a career with health, boundaries, and personal sustainability. The two-hour panel integrated three interactive wellness exercises engaged in by both the panel and the audience.

Featuring established artists and coaches, the pilot confirmed a clear, immediate demand for structured conversations surrounding wellbeing in the night-time economy.

Overview

In 2023, the initiative was officially named For Love and Health of House and expanded from a two-hour event into a two-day event hosted at The Extra Mile in Amsterdam Zuidoost.

The multi-day schedule combined panel discussions, a Qi Gong class, and a cacao, storytelling, and live soundscape session tailored to the music community.

While the first year focused solely on substance use, addiction, and recovery, this second edition expanded to cover broader mental health topics, including addiction prevention, burnout, personal boundaries, and long-term career longevity.

Honoured to host prominent artists, true industry veterans, and wellbeing specialists, the edition established an essential space for peer support and practical health resources during Amsterdam Dance Event.

Overview

For the 2024 edition, For Love and Health of House moved to WesterUnie in collaboration with Ilja Reiman and Catherine Angus (Multigroove).

This edition featured a one-day, dual-programme event across Westerliefde and Westergasterras. The schedule included panels covering mental health, addiction, recovery, and burnout, alongside a dedicated women-only panel addressing specific pressure points faced by female professionals in the industry.

The programme integrated discussions with experiential practices, including a cacao ceremony, breathwork, and techno yoga. Additionally, the event hosted an unofficial 12-step meeting and featured the first edition of UNWASTED, a sober party created as an integral component of the event.

Overview

For Love and Health of House 2025 was a one-day programme at WestWeelde (formerly WesterUnie) in De Wester.

For this edition, Schaduwlicht (Levi Matisse, Lofi) joined as a partner. We welcomed artists, health professionals, and executives from global industry companies, including Universal Music Group and Wasserman Music.

The schedule integrated panel discussions, interactive wellness sessions, and professional on-site coaching provided by Dutch Support Group. The day concluded with a featured theatre performance, Nightlife voor Dummies, by Ronald Molendijk and Mick Boskamp.
